This elegant bench with a beautiful grain is made directly from a tree trunk, then carved by hand and entirely charred with the ancient Japanese technique of Shou Sugi Ban, the art of preserving wood using fire. This procedure, ecological and completely natural, protects the wood by making the surface waterproof and so ideal for the outdoor also. The charring creates a beautiful lustre and smoothness to the wood’s surface. The charred larch bench is a great compliment to any home as a side bench or a big coffee table.
