This cedar bench is made directly from a tree trunk, then carved by hand and finished by with the ancient Japanese technique of Shou Sugi Ban, the art of preserving wood using fire. This procedure, ecological and completely natural, protects the wood by making the surface waterproof and so ideal for the outdoor also. The charring creates a beautiful lustre and smoothness to the wood’s surface.
